About the Concert

Ajtony Csaba, co-director of the SALT New Music Festival, welcomes Montréal-based Ensemble Paramirabo to open the 2026 festival with a program bringing six distinctive musical voices into close contact.

The concert moves between intimacy and intensity, stillness and disruption. Small gestures grow into larger textures, individual sounds collide and connect, and the musicians’ close interaction becomes part of the experience.

Works by Ana Sokolović, Jimmie LeBlanc, Missy Mazzoli, and Philippe Macnab-Séguin are joined by two world premieres by Snežana Nešić and Nicolas Gilbert. Together, they introduce the theme of SALT 2026: Proximity—closeness between musicians, composers, sounds, and audiences.
